The Gamers Guide café is not just about gaming. It is a whole experience. Our knowledgeable Guides will be with you throughout the whole journey to make sure everyone in your group is having fun. However, if you have any questions before arriving, have a look at our Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Book a table online, or just turn up. You can book a table for a small fee per person per hour and in return our amazing Game Guides will suggest you a board game, teach you the basics, help you with the rules and in general make sure you are all having fun, no matter of your level of experience, age and anything else. Got hungry during play? No worries, check out our menu for foods and drinks, or take a look at our counter for our daily offers.

How much does it cost?

For table booking, we charge on a per person per hour base as the followings:

  • 1st hour: £3

  • 2nd hour: £2

  • 3rd hour: £1.50

  • 4th hour or more: £1 per hour

Children under the age of 5 play for free, children between 5-16 play for half price.

Do you have games for young children?

Yes, of course! Our amazing Guides can offer a game to anyone and we have some games which are specifically for the smallest ones. And don’t worry, they are good for the adults as well

I don’t think I like board games. Do you have something for me?

We will challenge you to think again! We believe board games are for everyone, and we are certain that we will be able to suggest you a board game you will love. Join us and you will see :)

I’m vegan. Do you have something on the menu for me?

Yes! We created this café to have a truly inclusive space for everyone, so we have some delicious options for vegans and vegetarians as well. You think we failed to offer a truly inclusive offer? Please let us know and we will do our best to change that!

Are you accessible for wheelchair users?

This is a tricky one. Although we are trying to be a fully inclusive venue, we are located in a historic building. Therefore, we have some steps at the entrance. We have a ramp which is operated by staff and we are always here to help. However, due to restrictions created by the historic nature of the venue, we cannot offer wheelchair friendly toilet facilities. The closest wheelchair friendly toilet is at the cathedral, around 2 minutes from the front door. We truly sorry for the inconvenience caused and we are going to keep looking for a solution to be able to offer better facilities to our wheelchair users.

I would like to celebrate an event at your place. Can you accommodate that?

Firstly, thank you for thinking about our café as a venue for your special occasion. We have a smaller room which can accommodate up to 15 people, while our main room can house up to 25. Please contact our team on info@thegamersguidecafe.co.uk to chat about the details. Do you have a bigger party in mind? Why not book the whole café? Get in touch to discuss the details.
